We have improved robot and completed the task (see video), improvements include:
Wider wheelbase so bot can turn better and go faster,
Longer boom for light sensor so bot does not need to wiggle as much,
Programmed specifically for this course; bot can turn harder on one side than the other, if both sides turned as hard, the robot enters a spin.

Lesson 4
We have completed the line follower robot and programmed it, we are now making improvements to the design so as to enable it to complete the course in a faster time.

Lesson 3
We have started to build the robot to follow a line from the instructions provided, will be completed next lesson.
Lesson 2
We had to create a program that:
Makes two motors run when a button is pressed and when it is released to have the motors stop.
At each button press the motors change direction.
Whenever the motors are off a lamp lights.
We then had to answer a worksheet.

The Brief
We are currently just learning how to use the 'robolab software' but we have been set the task of designing a robot with the lego 'mindstorms' set that can follow a line around a course.
